Net-metering allows industrial power consumers in Bangladesh to synchronize grid-tied rooftop solar systems with their utility provider, using surplus weekend generation to offset high-tariff daytime consumption during working shifts. When engineered correctly, net-metering turns weekends and holiday shutdowns into bill credit generators.
Under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MPEMR) Net-Metering Guidelines, any high-voltage (HT) consumer connected at 11kV, 33kV, or 132kV is eligible. The maximum permissible solar AC inverter output capacity is capped at 70% of the consumer's sanctioned load, subject to the host transformer capacity.
"Net-metering credits rollover across twelve billing cycles. Surplus kilowatt-hours generated on idle Fridays automatically offset active Monday through Thursday production costs."
To secure approval from utility engineers, Greenery EPC manages the end-to-end statutory sequence: preliminary load application, single-line diagram (SLD) approval, physical safety inspection, dual-metering synchronization, and formal commercial commissioning.
